6th and Virginia Melissa

Writing it down now
on a sedative
get your mind straight
you'll be relative before long

On her 33 looking for an empty home
listening to a record for memory
that can't go on for a lifetime
but it won't stop ringing

14 times 2 months ago
on life support
and noone knows what she is or
what she was there for

Are you alive now
Did you feel what you were looking to feel
will you care when you don't
and when its the last one of everything you own

How could you not get off and see
the beauty left behind
that can't be captured by your adventure
won't be returned to your misplaced desire
but waits with open arms to hold you
and smooth the wrinkles of your time's mistake
if not for you today

You'll always kick tomorrow

One foot on the ground

The time has come
Its time to run
Got off the plane an hour ago
Now its looking for the right way home

Find the way

Time will come
The time to have some
Look ahead for all the traces
tied up like broken laces

On the way

Finding me running my way back to you here far away
And man how I've missed it
Lost in utter senselessness
It happens for a time when I'm caught in your eyes

By the way

And how's my heart
did it behave
From time to time it's not all that brave

Any way

But now its time for me to run
Now its time for us to have some

All the way
Tonight
Right away
Tonight
Green light

On a plane

I can't emote through this keyboard
from a thousand miles away
Clackity Clack into a blog site
or blow it all up on a message
painstakingly spontaneously composed

But hey man,
Here's three:
I love you
And one for the road:
later

Walking along legendarily speaking.

And never ever letting go I notice
Well worth the price for something everlasting
I worship the feeling of being along
in your lifetime of loveship
Solice it is in such great hardship

For all of us now
and all of us then
We can get after what we never were again.

And by the way
I'd spend a lifetime looking for you
A hearts greatest gladness that I didn't have to

Never ever let go

A painting I can listen to all day.

One day and it's a million years
I look up and there's something hellbent to remind me
of you
your town
that hair
those eyes
that smile
that heart
that laughter
passion for people
love of the universe
and truth and honesty
and me and my faith in it

Keep it safe.

You are loved like no other
since the end of time began.

Thinking too much. Hey what's up

This one's gonna last forever
This one's gonna last a long long time
could be for life
or tomorrow

Picking apart the ones that know me
Which will be the one that wants to survive through our time
It's not mine

Thinking about the ones who've shown me
everything to take and leave behind
for a time

This is a sign

As you glide by
in my mind
making me blind
madly alive

I'm almost high

We have to survive
for the love
and it's not mine
it's us
for all time
shining bright white light on humankind

Afternoon tea

Quiet day but I'm dancing out loud.
Summer's beat is hollowed by the Autumn sound
And you
not here

It's one o'clock and the day is unfolding
What's he going to do
Whose hand is she holding now
I'll get there somehow
He said

If ever the stars align
underneath them together always
shine shine shine

Walking with my dreams
five hundred miles all the while
and you
you're here
with me now.

Move before the last one falls.

At a loss for words
with all I've gained
All I am now
listening fully conscious of the pounding silence
your overwhelmed chaos emanates
as your one more chance is realized

Fully aware
You have done something
for this chilled and darkened grin
for this hand outstretched beyond arms length mere
this paralyzed body seized
to the eery pinnacle rise

solitude broken
leaning in
open
given
standing

One more chance to do something.

Artifact of the caged bird

I hold no mallot
my wrists bear no chains
I have driven no spike to hold the rail firm for the elegance of travel
yet I sing

Feet untied
moving about without restriction
I am able to walk with or without cause
with or without end
yet I sing

I have felt no whip at my back
forcing my hands into the dark earth
in labor to another man's desired greed
still I sing

Daring my throat to open
I accompany the free bird
leaping to grasp the wind that blows unknowingly

To Maya
Goddess energy that knows only the bright light
Radiance overwhelming the night light
and heard from far beyond the distant hill
I sing

Station

From the time that first name hit that bench it knew.
This was going to be a long one.
70% chance of rain and its only started.
Everything seems delayed.

A man of the fifties with no umbrella sits
Resettling his rather dapper tophat
Opening his paper he looks up shocked then settles thankfully
could have been more

A girl 5 foot seven and a half with startling brown eyes
and Irishly beautiful curls in her vaguely red hair finds quick company on his side.
A glance at the pornography of war in the old man's lap brings an unwanten smile
as she turns to look down the mist-swept road
Gasping underneath to be picked up and taken to where she wants to be
always in the company of strangers

Coming down hard now.
Wind blows a piece of muddied plastic across it barely
able to see the only graffiti colored in

293,655,404 and you are.

Never turned on a dime
but I turn all the time.

I remember what she wore when she met me.
Could've been black tie or jeans on me
I couldn't see me in her eyes
but for the smile that said my.

Sunday later I had practically forgotten
all that came before.
Refilled the darkness with still frame movies
of a billion to one shot.
Somedays I pull it out of its sleeve and watch it
keep the color from fading simply
out of love
mistaken for a thing that can be had.

Its dead nuts quiet tonight and someone from anywhere
caused thousands of hands to snap.
The pattering heart of a mouse
a melody
in could be brawny arms.
Fairness to the ghosts that haunt this place
watching me puzzled to find where these pieces fit.

The sword rests beneath my chin
an honorary knighthood
looking up to see you shine.
On my knees
sanctified.

Generally maybe but yes.

I'm sitting rocking in a chair that doesn't do that.
But my how nice you guys look tonight.

Its louder here than its been for a culture
and with all thats going on
it fucking well should be.

We're all going to win
He'll be running again
And yesterday's tomorrow will not be stopped this time.

Unbury your head.
Look up and see
sunshine in all your stars America.

Baez you crazy bitch. Luv ya

Dear Joan,

I had a camera once
Took black and whites

I have all these snapshots
in bright white color
Some the reds are just beneath the surface of it
and that one with the blue
has some of you in it.

The angels want the best of us
take the rest of us now and put that all aside
bring it with you when we next collide.

Thats what the ocean said anyways.

The blacks and whites are colors full
from diamond to rust
in my mind always.

West

7 hours by car in the middle of the night

Maybe
but then again
maybe not

The lights are off now and I'm going to bed
Could be tomorrow I buy a saxophone
and make ridiculously horrible noise
while you laugh and love it spontaneously

The melody is on and
and I like it
putting me to sleep and dream
but for then again

Through the woods

Popped up again
you are my friend
Talk about the time you had
and I'll send a song
telling you that you're twenty five
and you're listening to an old 45
thats smarter than me
can we be
the best of friends
and always here
whether we've been going out
and always be
given something to go on and on about
lifetimes little phases
all the faces that we have to meet between
moving on to find our next hometown.

Red letter

Is this the one she unfolds
holds up
reads apart the words
and places to her heart

fiber no more but feeling
A list of life and all the things that she brings to it
and everything the little things that we miss most of all
from so far to seconds close in your prose

Words with truest meaning gleaming
lighting up the room as angels surround
to read along the song of hearfelt gratitude
for you and life and love and beautiful silly craziness.

The lady in her seventies that I adore is waiting
Can't believe the laziness that we employ.
Listening to sultry records
watching all the games we play
knowing all the answers to what she would do

dancing to the same song
sitting motionless

poring over these words

sleepy eyes tireless

I love with you best

Lifetime minute by

Absent
sleeping
avoiding the game that hurts
stages around to here again accepting
my place in yours
despite the sworn
kept torn
alive at best
obsessed
in this minute
of course with you
silly

Just a day

I think I got some answers
But I was talking to the ocean
Out loud
But it listens.
And oh so well

It knows all about us now
And the way that water hit that moon
I can tell it approves
And all the little things you'd never think to ask for
are yours.

Four Star

She works at the post office
and she hates it
its obvious in how she likes it
And you with the stars on your shoulder
bring a joy to her smile
that longs for silver lining

I can't remember her name now
but so sweet and delightful
sitting across the two seat table in another room
telling all the stories of impending doom
visioning the hopeful in your paralyze
without divide
sunshine in all your stars

Painter the art

I've not seen a painting
of oil and canvas
or a brush in its stroke
be considered priceless
in their singularity

But of the bearing down of you to it
and beauty undefined given life
with your definition
of love unbound
and found
in this art

There in an instant

Its all along immeasurable
yet we're seeing it
like yesterday's broken news today

possible he plays with us
often taking us
to new things and new places
where we all of us can all fall down

Right there I could see it
knowing everything of why
And even with this hair
sometimes we're terribly lonely aligned
terrified like you though
loving it to live for a while

Out of bounds

I'm huge right now
cut
defined
refined
alive
in Japan
or an otherwise China sky

To my mindkind
a likewise collide
that could cause us to blind
to the life
of realities
that often unwind
in uncertain times

You are my mindkind
chaired by the games pace
scared of the lost race
striving to the line
because nothing has been said and done right
for all of us about
and all of us in
looking for the good sin

Aren't we all

Train Tracks

and the way that you don't look at me
and it's fine
but you did
perhaps
will again
in someone else
or me
and I
fascinated by this
life
in front of me
the whole thing
behind me
the real things
imagined to have been.

Lie awake and lie no more

Its a little bit of a lot of things
That keep us coming back to this scenario
Sleeplessness and Lovelessness
And all the things to happiness
with all the while
through all the miles
it's off again

Go off again
its yours
its mine
its not what it is or needs to be
until the last of us
gets with the best of us
that gets to all of us
to change it
fix it
find it
Flowering

Nothing if not thoughtful

In an underground an instant
Its been silent since beginning walking over ground
Loud now liking places never seen
and ever been and often called a way back home
maybe even to a real God.
Finding what it means to give
Looking for the seeds to sieve
Listening to a bird that shouldered on the words I've been going over
Learning how the more it can be always sees the back of envy
Living it the second of the day
Opening up the random
Choosing
Watching all the winning losing
Answering to silence
Turning it up.

To 11 with the 22 along

Master it all
Get to where you got to
turn it all
Something behind some door that can't imagine what the story of the whole thing means to all the things found in between and more thats seen imagining.
Again here
Why again here
Seems its how many times to get here
Bored here
Born here to work the road there drifting
Almost along to somewhere
Sifting through a blade of grass
Uplifting
Going on

This one goes to eleven

Someday story of another time

All the words that we can get
And all the lines that we have set
Only lead the last one to the start of the original sin
Somewhere on the outside the trees have started burning
and its inside where its cold and dark
And its me
listening with my eyes
wondering aloud what you are looking like
smiling shy sky high
Saving up a cloud to hide with silver light from on the side line
And its you
and magic
and mystery
and love that love can't understand

Game

If it wasn't a game
then who would want to play?
Life and lives are pretty cool like that.
Winning and not losing.
Always gaining even in.
Knowing what to understand.
Your choice.
Always depends on it.

A penny and a half for a half a thought.

I thought in that time that you love me.
And you love me.
And I know this.
And its as cool as its supposed to be.
In the world as its supposed to be.
And isn’t this nice.
Quiet and there and always.
Wind careening to the calming breeze.
Leaves fall green in the autumn sky.
Mandelbrot contentment.
The pattern of absolute
placed neatly in the undefined.
And unrefined alive.
A life.
Smiling back again.
Night.

Dreaming of dreaming again

It was without doubt the one and can it will be.
Can’t blame the kid for all the right reasons for running in.
Incredibly amazed with the incredibly amazing.
Happily engaged with the happily engaging
It is what it is when it can be.
When it can be.
And after that.
And after this.
Another now.

Before never seems to leave well behind alone.
Well enough alone.
Another now.

Smilies

I would kill to make you smile.
If that’s what you like to see.
Then again.
If you like that kind of thing.
I don’t know if I want to make you smile so much.
But you are pretty cool.
And pretty funny.
And pretty.
And nice.

Yup

Where’s this gonna go.
I can’t see anything.
I know I’m here.
I know it’s real.
But what the fuck man.

Who all is out there.
What can I do for them.
For you. For anyone and everyone at once.
I’m just sitting here.
Its three fifteen AM
And these two hands.
And all their lacking glory.
Comfortable in the pain of the news.

And its minimized and on with life.
I spose its gone like this for miles.
Apart along aloud and long.
Fall and get back up again.
For what. For anything.
Its Everything.
And real.

You say something?

Out the window there is healing going on.
Once and wondering just why we're holding on to this thing.
Looking back at it. Forward scores of it.
Going away but its not that right that it left.
Thinking languages. Talking instruments.
Wandring along to the long road that exists.
Looking for an entrance without exits.
It belongs to all of us all getting on.

I don't know what to say.
but I'd say anything.
I don't want it back again.
Just want the season to change.
And there's this life again.
And all these lives within.

And hearts and words and wizards.

Marching through the blizzard.
Going forward.
Driving starward.
along along along

we belong.

It wasn't only yesterday

what am i thinking about
Im thinking about
all these people
and all these names
and all. my. life.

I got news.
He is coming back.
On another day far not far.
Gonna get kept.
None of them left.
Lot of love in them.
All.
